Targeted for low cost industrial applications, WinSystems offers the SAT series of highly-integrated, single board computers. These highly-integrated, 16-bit single board computers small size, (4.5 x 7.1 inches), low power requirements (less than 5 Watts) and rugged design make them ideal for embedded PC applications. A 16-bit PC/104 expansion connector allows expansion of the functions not found on the base board.
Operating at 25 MHz, the WinSystems¦ SAT employs the Intel 25 MHz Intel386 SX CPU and offers up to 16 Mbytes of onboard dynamic RAM. Two onboard 32-pin EPROM sockets support up to 512K x 8 EPROM, SRAM and Flash (PEROM) memory devices per socket. Multiple jumper selectable memory maps permit these boards to support bootable ROMDISK or RAMDISK. WinSystems provides an installable device driver for use with MS-DOS and ROM-DOS* operating systems.
These units include the keyboard controller, two 16 channel interrupt con-rollers, real-time clock, 3 counter/timers, seven DMA controllers, speaker port, precision power-fail reset circuit and watch-dog timer.
The unit¦s onboard I/O includes two serial channels, each with RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 levels, Centronics printer port, floppy disks controller, IDE hard disk interface, 24 parallel lines and keyboard controller. A coprocessor is available for math-intensive applications.
MS-DOS as well as other real-time executives and popular AT-compatible operating systems, are supported by these single board computers. They are so compatible that it will even run PC/AT diagnostic software; however, they can work without DOS and BIOS software as a standalone single board computer. These units are fully functional as a PC/AT compatible platform and will execute programs without disks, keyboards, or monitors.
